on my 99.5...my car was sluggish up to a max of about 10 psi. at times, boost would suddenly slam up to 16 psi or so but on the next shift wouldn't go past 10 psi. no CEL or anything.

i took my bailey BPV apart since it was easy to reach and found that the sealing ring on the piston was bone dry and had twisted a bit from the friction without lubricant (that explained the inconsistent boost). i set the ring back in place, lubed it up and i'm back to smooth boosting.
