I was comming back from taking an exam this morning and I needed to relieve some stress so I went for a little drive. When I punched it in second the boost level jumped to 16psi and then went back down to 10psi and held steady. Is this normal? Oh, and I am chipped, APR, and just reciently got the boost guage installed.

I always thought that with a 1bar chip the boost would be 16psi when at WOT, not peak at 16psi. Or is it different for different gears? I'm full of questions today.

depending on gear, temp/weather conditions, etc.
The highest boost levels will be achieved under load (try flooring it in 5th at around 2500 rpm and watch the boost spike). I don't think that's really good for the car though, so don't make a habbit of it, this applies whether chipped or stock.
It'll stay at peak boost as long as it needs to and conditions allow... as rpms rise, boost will fall (starting around 5000-5500 rpm) since the K03 just can't flow that much air.

Mike S. mentioned trying to set up another get together soon. From what I've seen on the board, that could prove really interesting...sems like a lot of new A4/S4 owners in the area, and a lot of folks doing mods.
