three types I've used.
I've used Bosch Platinum:
+2's
+3's
+4's (which are in now)
Some people have complained about their 12v not running smooth with +4's but I have had no problem at all. Engine performance and fuel economy seems the same for all. Of course, you may experience different results. So I say just pick and choose.
If you are sluggish engine power then I suggest replacing your ignition wires too, assuming they haven't replaced in a while (~30k miles).

I run the Beru Ultra-X , 25-UXF.56, on my modded 12v, and they have really performed beautifully--better than the OEM-style three-prongs that VW/AUDI designed for the car.
The heat and spark characteristics of the Beru Ultra-X appear perfect for my engine right now. They burn exceptionally clean and with very few misfires.
I have one used set of NGK (OEM-2-prong for the 2.8 30v) and one used set Bosch (OEM-three-prong for the 2.812v) plugs sitting in my garage ready for me to throw away that I used for less than 10,000 miles, due to fouling and misfires.
Someday, I may try the Denso or NGK iridium plugs as many people have raved about them; however, I remain wary of those plugs due to their design. Those with whom I have discussed the construction state that the laser welding makes all the difference.
Anyway, if you have a modded 12v making more than the stock 172hp but less than about 200hp, I would recommend the Beru Ultra-X's based on my experience with the plug on my car.
