I have found a car in stock exactly as I wanted it, exept that it is missing the following:
-Cold Weather Package (Will be OK without it)
-Bose system (Wondering if Aftermarket will reasonably match/better the BOSE set-up)
Please comment.
Thank you in advance

1. im happy with the stock system.
2. Ask Mark p. he instsalled a great looking system ( i havent heard it yet ).
3. it's really eaisy to upgrade the stereo. You can even keep the same face
4. The bose is not worth it.<p><a href="http://www.crosswinds.net/%7Eeaudi/"><img src=" http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/audipost.jpg" width="150" height="113" border="0"></a>

I don't have a Bose, but from what I understand it's only marginally better than the stock stereo, which I have. My guess is that if you're a real sound afficionado, you'd end up upgrading the Bose system anyway. I have had aftermarket stereo equipment placed into a number of cars and each time, it has blown away the stock system. The aftermarket stuff is also in my future for this car.
Search for Bose in the archives and you'll definitely find a lot of opinions about it. Most of them will probably suggest going aftermarket. Good luck!

Make these simple adjustments to a symphony system, and you should be satisfied...
Set the fader slightly to the rear (do it, don't argue), and set the midrange and especially treble at a relatively louder level than the bass. This keeps the weak front speakers from distorting due to trying to reproduce bass notes and still keeps the soundstage up front since the rear speakers have very little capability to reproduce high notes. I think this sounds "cleaner" than the Bose system.
