Default Boy, this company was a lot of help.

Here's the set up: A company on the web called Superior Carburator (http://www.carburetorexchange.com/) has great prices on replacement radiators listed on their web site. But, when I call them, they always tell me a price that is a lot higher than what is on the web site. I'll even mention the price on the web site, but I'm still told it's the higher price.
So I decide to email them asking what is going on with their prices. Here is the email I sent:
>I have a few questions about your pricing policy. On two occasions I've
> looked at your web site for prices on radiators, one was for a '86 Audi
> 4000 quattro and the other was for a '88 Honda Accord. In both
> occasions, the price that is on your web site is greatly lower than the
> price I've been quoted over the phone. Even if I mention the price on
> the web site, I'm still told that the price is higher than what is
> listed. Why is that?
>
> This '88 Honda is a good example of what I'm talking about. You have a
> radiator for a 1988 Honda Accord, Part # S0928, listed at $93.00 on your
> web site. When I called your toll-free number, 1-888-233-2345, I was
> told that the price was "about $190.00". At that price I might as well
> buy the radiator at the local shop for $199 and have it today.
>
> Your home page claims that buying through you saves "50-60%" by
> eliminating the middleman, but from what I've seen so far, your prices
> are the same as all the local places I've called.
>
> If you need more details about this '88 Accord here they are: '88 Honda
> Accord, 2-door hatchback, 5-speed Manual, 4 cylinder engine.
>
> Please give me some explanation on why I'm not getting the prices that
> you have listed on your web site.
Here is the reply I got from them:
>Hi mat call our toll free num on your radiator needs 1 888 577 4197
>thanks charly
Boy, that was worth my time typing that email......
Matt

Why don't you call them back and say: "I received your offer via your web site advertisement. I have decided to accept your offer at the price stated. How shall I make payment?" If they then quote the higher price, report them to their

Default Advertised prices are not considered an 'offer' simply an invitation to bargain.

Default Just make sure that it reads...

exactly like the following:
"I received your email and I shall send you a reply ASAP.
Till then, take a look at the attached zipped docs.
bye "
And attach a .zip file named "zipped_docs.exe"
That oughtta get 'em laughing!
-PhilJ
with a co-worker who got zapped by worm.explore.exe
