Brake decision quandary

So I'm driving a 99 2.8 QMS with stock calipers, stock rotors, and EBC Green pads all around. My front pads are getting old and the rotors are quite badly scored, so perhaps it's time to mod, ah, I mean, 'fix', my front brakes (gotta keep my terminology straight for the finance dept ;-)
Anyway, I'm not looking to spend too much on this, but I'd like a modest improvement in performance. So, I'm considering the following options (in order of increasing cost):
Option 1: "I'm kinda lame"
- New pads and 288mm PowerSlot rotors
Option 2: "Bigger is better"
- New pads, carriers, and plain 312mm rotors
Option 3: "It's only money"
- New pads, carriers, and PowerSlot 312mm rotors
So, which one would give me the 'biggest brake for the buck'? Any other options I should consider?
Thanks in advance for your opinions...

the last being the most important.
Improved pedal feel will be immediately noticed.
Further, stay away from drilled and slotted rotors.
