Default Brake Fluid: For those of you not using ATE S.Blue or Gold, what brake fluid do you use?

The premium motorcycle fluids (Castrol SRF and Motul 600) just cost too much ($70/liter for SRF; similar for Motul?). Several people have complained that the ATE S. Blue causes problems. For the recommended bi-annual brake fluid change, I want to use something that will remain close to DOT 4 specifications (DryBP=446, i.e., newBP at 0% mositure and WetBP=311, i.e., 1yrBP at 3.5% moisture) throughout its two year life. Valvoline Supersyn will go to 333 in one year, and Castrol LMA will go to 311 in a year. ATE will go to 392 in a year; thus, it will likely stay close to DOT 4 spec. through two years. Should I fear ATE 200 Gold and/or S. Blue???

Default $20 for two bottles of Motul costs too much? Please tell me youre not serious.

I know I'm **** about car stuff, but c'mon - you're talking about brakes! Is that really something you want to skimp on?

If youre running your car on the street, synthetic fluid is overkill. You'll be perfectly fine buying the cheap crap and flushing it regularly.

BTW, a friend of mine had to replace his ABS pump ('00 or '01 model) because it started leaking the blue fluid. Much more expensive than spending $20 for the good stuff.

Default I used to have Castrol LMA. It was good.

The LMA is comparable to the stock fluid. Not a whole lot better. And certainly no worse.
I even tracked my car with the LMA and it did fine.

I have since upgraded my brakes, and the kit came with Pentosin Super DOT4. It is also good. I've been on the track with it a few times too, and no problems.
Hard to find though.

I cannot really do a direct comparison between the two, because my whole brake system changed.
