Well kind of. Turns out I need new rotors and brake pads. How did this get past my mechanic? anyway, I was thinking the brembo rotors on ebay with PBR axxis pads. What do you guys think? worth it or skip it and pay 530 bucks to get the stock ones put back on. the brembo ones are 301 shipped(with pads)

Caliper compressor, misc wrenches.. 4hrs of time. It's a straightforward job to do it yourself. I personally don't like cross drilled rotors, stick with slotted. Also for pads, well to each their own. So many brands, so many benefits. EBC Green stuff are my reccomendation. Rotors.. i have ATE. they are nice

you said some kind of compressor? Where would I get that and how much is it? plus do you have a pic of what your calipers look like with the pads, from what Ive heard they are actually green pads. Would the red stuff work as well?

there are mine with pads... the caliper compressor is 10$ or so at pep boys.. 60$ for the beefier one. Make the money back by renting it out to your friends. I don't have green stuff pads, just know a bunch of people that use em.

You use the same A4 pad, and can get some Zimmerman x-drilled rotors or slotted rotors for a decent price. Just a thought. Regardless, the job is not a difficult one and doesn't take 4 hours (unless you can't get the rotors or caliper carriers off and have to go at them with a hammer - in the case of my girlfriend's MKIV VR6 24V

I'm going to do it when I get the car back this weekend and I'll give you an update as to how it goes. Got a good place to get the rotors? I dont want to pay more than 300 for front and rear because I need both.

And also will it fit my budget of around 300 bucks? Plus I still have the stock 16 inch rims, will they fit in that also? so many things to worry about!

for the front calipers you can also use a C-clamp. It needs to be deep - I want to say four inches - but it will do the trick just fine. I know, I did my pads this afternoon.
