Default Got a VAG-COM and here's what I got...

1 Fault Found:

18014 - Rough Road/Engine Torque Signal from ABS: Electrical Malfunction

If anyone could tell me what that actually means that would be great. Thanks a lot

IIRC, that's not one you ever want. Looks like you need your ABS module rebuilt by ModuleMasters.

It is very common with the Bosch 5.3 modules. I have a '98 A4 2.8 too and I bought the car with 88k on it. About two years later, the ABS/Brake light and the beeps started to happen. Now going on three years later, I still haven't fixed it and got used to the annoying beeps and don't like ABS anyways. I like to pump my own brakes. However, I will be selling the car soon and will most likely go through ModuleMaster since they seem to have the best reputation. All other rebuild companies seem to have a lot of complaints, even if they do have a lifetime warranty.

I had mine rebuilt a little over a year ago now. This morning I got the flashing lights again......hopefully its just an ABS wheel sensor and not the module again!!

You need to replace your ABS electronics module, a very common problem on the B5s. See modulemasters.com

I sent mine in to Module Master months back and they were unable to fix it, stating it was putting out a fatal code. I bought one on eBay for $35 and its still running strong. However, this did not completely solve my ABS issue because unfortunately, I am one of the lucky ones that has the wheel sensors that need to be replaced. My VAG-COM said rear left and front right and costing about $350-$400 to replace the two, I've put the ABS issue on the back burner yet again. I know the rear one needed it for sure but haven't taken a look at the front. I've been dealing with this crap for about 3 or so years now! What a headache...
