Default brake pad light came on "(0)" but pads look totally fine

I just replaced the rear pads because they were totally shot and after the installation the computer displayed again that the pads needed to be done, showing the "(0)" symbol. my roommate told me that there shouldnt be a sensor in the back for the pads, just the front. the front pads, which werent done, look like they have a lot of life left though. Any input? Thanks. pics below

Default Pad sensor is on the INNER pad, not the outer pad.

Inner pad could easily be more worn than the outer.

Default shouldnt be a sensor on the rear only on the front......

If front pads look good check the sensor wire and the connection housing. Clean it up and make sure its tight.

Default Correct and Correct.

Sensor is on the inner pad on both sides of the vehicle.

There is a pad on both faces of the rotor. An outer pad and an inner pad.

Default Yes 2 pads per tire inner and outer inner being closer to the car outer being the one u can see.

Now check the inner pads (sensor holding pads) for wear and if its showing wires in the pad on the part the rubs the rotor. there most likely "shot"

Default like they said below... sensor is on inner... that being said>

it concerns me that the outter pad's look fine...

there shouldnt be THAT much of a difference in amount of pads...something else might also be wrong

Default ok i think i figured it out.... wtf is this crap?

it never threw the 'change pads' code the few weeks after i purchased the car. just recently when i noticed the rear pads needed to be done, ironically there is no sensor in the back...

here is what i found on the passenger front side.
