Brake pads? Everyone says Minex but....

I hate Mintex....
they don't brake any better than cheaper pads, and they definitely don't produce less dust.
For a generic, cheap, stock function, minimal dust pad...I like the Raybestos.
I have Porterfield R4-S aggressive street pads on shipment right now.

I put mintex reds on: my opinion = you can do better
I searched and searched before chosing the mintex reds, and everything boiled down to "good street pad". I don't thing that they are that great. They don't suck, but they aren't great. I would definitely go with a more aggressive pad if I was to do it again.
I used to run metalmasters on my 944S a while back and they were leagues above the mintex reds. I don't know if todays metalmasters are the same, but if they are I'd go with them.

Compared to OE pads....
they produce A LOT less dust. My experience is that they don't have as good of an initial bite compared to the OE pads but performance wise, I don't feel that I'm giving up anything. I haven't tried other brands.

You can do better, what do you want?
I want excellent bite, and fade free performance, plus the ability to to autoX and track days.
On my other cars:
I have tried EBC Green. They suck. I can't tell the difference in bite, and they dust like crazy. Someone "in the know" told me they spent all their $$$ on marketing hype, and were not all that good. My experience verifies this.
Axxis Metal Master, or better yet the newer Axxis Ultimates. I haven't used these myself, but they get rave reviews as a good aggressive (good bite) relatively fade free pad that does not dust too much. These seem to be one of the best pads around.
My personal choice:
Hawk HP +. These are slightly more aggressive than the Axxis ultimate. I.E. more dust, more rotor wear, better bite, better heat resistance (slightly better on the track). I love them for the performance, but you will get dust. Personally, I don't mind the cleaning for the extra performance. They are great!
(The HP Street is a little less aggressive if that is what you want). As a bonus, I can swap out the front pads for Hawk Race pads for a track day, and still have a Front/Rear ballance with similar coefficient of friction.
Porterfield is also a great choice for excellent pads, but I haven't used them.
