most of the search results are concerned with brake dust. well ive decided, after owning mintex's, i could give a rats *** about brake dust. I'd rather be able to stop. imagine that. ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
so bring on the brake dust, and stopping power.
i was leaning towards hawk HPS for my TT/A8 kit waiting to go on. from what i've read, initial bite isnt all that great.
any preformance street pads out there with good inital bite and lots of dust?![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
THANKS!

I was going to put them on the car this morning, but I got lazy.
BTW, I also have Mintex pads, and am not impressed with them.
Other good choices:
Carbotech Bobcat
Porterfield R4S<ul><li><a href="http://www.pure-motorsport.com/products/page.php?pageKey=10">http://www.pure-motorsport.com/products/page.php?pageKey=10</a</li></ul>

What is it about them that you like better than the Bobcats?

I wanted the Ultimates 3 years ago when I first bought my ECS kit, but was told that they were not made for the Boxster calipers. (They were available for other Porsche calipers, including the Boxster S, but not the regular Boxster.)
So I just used the Mintex Reds that came with the kit.
Most vendors still don't sell the Ultimates for the Boxster calipers, but Stoptech had them. So I got them. As I posted above, I was going to install them this morning, but laziness took over, and I didn't do it yet. But I'll report as soon as I do.

Brake pads (street use) are good for 20-30k miles. So what if your pads cost $100, $150, or even $180. The difference in price is miniscule when you spread it over 30k miles. Most of us spend a lot more on mods. So why complain about a pad which is only a few bucks more expensive?
That said, I bought the less expensive Axxis Ultimates instead of the Carbotech Bobcats. Not because of the price, however, but because of still limited information on the Bobcats.
