Default Which brand/type of PS Fluid can I buy at Autozone?

Hello All I have a 1998.5 a4 1.8TQ

Two questions: What brand/type of PS fluid can I buy at autozone/strauss

and where is the reservoir located?

Im getting grinding noise im pretty sure Im running dry. Thanks!

Default Pentosin at some parts stores ,local Federated stores in Ohio have had it.

Don't know about AZ.

Its almost impossible to make it to the dealer. They close very early. Autozone closes at 10 or so.

I'm working till about 9pm today by the time i get home its all dark, all stores closed. its pretty tough! thanks

Search the forum for Valvoline Synpower. Some people use it with no problem. In those same threads you will hear people say one thing or another about either. Its up to at that point.


Make sure when you search the forum you pick the B5 discussion group. Look around, people have talked about this already.

Default You could be like the guy I saw at the track a few weeks ago and fill it with brake fluid.

It said "hydraulic fluid". That's the right stuff, no?

most dealers will hold parts with the cashier. that's what I've done in the past.
