My seat control on my 96 a4 is not working right. When I hit the controls none of the buttons work and the seat does not move. then i shake the seat and it will start working for a few seconds. Any ideas?

Do you even hear the motor trying to crank?
Or is it silent untill you shake the seat?
If you can hear the motor cranking when you push the button, I would attempt to remove the seat and clean the track of any debris..
If you cant hear it untill you shake the seat, I would search for a loose connection somewhere underneath the seat, or even try some contact cleaner.

I have a 14 Q7 with the front passenger seat moved all the way forward and all controls work except the seat wont slide back. The motor tries to function but i looked under the seat and that particular motor is flopping around. I cant access front seat bolts to remove seat and im not sure how to remove lower seat trim panel to see if that will let me get to them, do you have any suggestions?

I cant get to the front bolts. The seat is all the way forward. I looked under the seat from the rear and the motor for forward and aft movement is out of the brackets that secure it and it jumps and makes noise when you hit the switch but the seat wont slide back.
