Rainy Sunday, new spring comes Wed but am ebarrassed by the sound of my broken spring. So here, for your amusement, is my temporary fix till the new spring comes.
You can see the break at the bottom, and you can see where the spring is rubbing on the strut.

So, I cut an old rag and wrapped it around the spring about 3 times, zip tied it to the spring, then greased the spot on the strut. It was silent on the 1 mile test drive I just took. We'll see if it lasts till Thrusday when I can get the new one on.
