Buffalo is CLOSED! due to "supersquall" definition inside, and why Quattro is useless :} (M)
A Supersquall is an electrically charged, very intense snow squall with snowfall rates above 4" per hour. Electrically charged means, a squall with lightning, and static charged snow that sticks to everything. We have had over 20" in Williamsville NY. This is the most heavily populated area in western New York. All major routes are closed, the town of Cheektowaga (pop 170,000) has initiated a driving ban, all non closed roads are impassable due to stuck and abandoned vehicles.
Driving bans will shortly be implemeted in Lancaster, Amherst, and Depew.
Now for the Audi content! The parking lot has 20" of snow, and 4' drifts. No plows are running due to extremely low visibility and abandoned cars. So my Quattro is of no use....there are 2000 people stuck here, and hundreds of thousands stuck elsewhere in the city.
This is a major problem, If any of you are religious (I am not, but anything can help) Please send out a prayer to those who are stranded out in this incredible blizzard. There may be thousands stranded with no way of letting loved ones know.
We usually can handle alot of snow. But this blizzard has hit with unusual speed and intensity.

Oh sh*t! My sister was supposed to come visit me from buffalo :(
Wow that sounds bad... sounds much worse than the buffalo blizzard of '95 when I lived by delaware park and the snow completely covered all the cars in the parking lot past the roof! I thought my car was stolen!
That was also the year I was diving off the 2nd floor balcony during the aftermath to land on my back deep into the snow

I can see it on the Environment Canada weather radar animation on the 'net...long intense streamer straight across from lake Erie. Man, I'm glad I'm in nice warm cosy Toronto, cloudy and +1 C
