Default Building my 1.8t into a 2.0 with a T3

Well since I totalled another A4, I can't really afford to pay the insurance on another one till summer rolls around. Now I am trying to buy my totalled one to keep and slowly take the parts off that I spent so long putting on. In the process, I want to pull the engine and put forged pistons, rods, crank shaft, tap ported head, schrick carms, T3 turbo with equal length exhaust manifold. But I have no idea where to but these parts from. Any body know where to buy them from???!!! Should I do anything else while I am at it???

Default Do a search in the archives, there are a couple peeps who have tried/done this conversion

look for their emails as your best bet, don't remember the names off the top of my head though

Default parts are the easy part....software is where you will run into some issues

you can buy a balanced crank short block with all the forged parts already for about $4k.

Default You might want to go to a 1.9 liter using the stock crank

unless you dont mind having someone machine out the inside of the block to allow the 2 liter crank and new rods to spin since the block was never made to hold a 2 liter crank.

Going to a 2 liter with just a T3 is not going to get you much more power, look to increase it by 50-75 hp. It will help if your looking to go with a much larger turbo over that T3 though.

So you have to get a new block too?! and a bigger turbo than a t3, what turbo are you running?
