Default Busted hose question

The other day I was added wash fluid to my wifes A4 and noticed that something apeared to be blowing across the intake manifold. When I looked closer I saw a hose had split. Well I just picked up the part from a dealer (P/N 06B 133 783 BC) but I have a question on how to replace it. It looks simple enough to get to but the clamps at either end don't look like they are reusable. Can anyone confirm this? And if so do you know what the P/N is for those clips? I just don't want to start something I can't finish. Thanks!

Default That is where mine busted too..

must be the weak spot! Thanks for the input, I'll pick those up today. Out of curiosity; does driving the car like this pose any threat? I am hoping that since it didn't throw a CEL it isn't a major deal.

Well your boost is venting to the atmosphere through that brass nipple on the manifold.

Default not a big deal, unscrewing the coolant tank and moving it out of the way...

makes the install easier. by the way, its known problem with that hose for it to break. the new part you are showing is the upgraded version of the stock hose.

Could I be running rich then and cause future problems with the cat?

Default Thanks for the tip

that is what I was planning to do, but it is nice to know it is the upgraded version. I guess I can't complain, 75K miles and chipped at that!

Default Ack!

Wait - sorry that's not the hose I thought you were talking about. The pics didn't load for me the first time I read this thread but I assumed from the content of the thread that you guys were talking about the long braided fabric covered vacuum line that runs from the front of the manifold to the BPV. They crack all the time at the brass nipple coming out of the manifold.

Looking at your pic - it looks a bit foreign actually, I'm not sure that I have that on my NDBW.

Default you're running rich at boost, and lean at idle.

you're cat can tolerate it for a little while. i dont think you have anything to worry about.

Default Like so....

I just posted this problem a week or two ago. Move the coolant bottle to the side (3 screws and unplug at the bottom, leave hose attached). Unplug a sensor towards the front end for easier access (not required). Just use standard stainless hose clamps.
