starting up my car hitting auto temp. the A/C frost light does not come on nor will it re-circulate. Basically the A/C all of the sudden stop coming on....so my question is if the A/C is broken wouldn't the frost light still come on and just blow hot air. Also even if the A/C was done the re-circulation would still come on. Is it just too hot or something along those lines?

The AC compressor will not allow you to turn on the AC if there's a problem with it- sometimes this is indicative of a dying AC clutch. If the AC compressor senses that it is getting too hot while it's trying to compress the R134a, it will shut itself off.

in the blazing sun for about 5 hrs and when I got into the car the dash read 140 degrees....so possibly it is not letting it come on until it is cool enough.........that is what I expected but it is still 120 plus right now
