I had terrible problems with wet weather braking with my 97 A4. Peddle felt dead and stiff. Scared the crap out of me in high speed highway braking. Dealer replaced the brake bypass valve, part number # 058-198-751. This work was covered under a recall # 80947. Not sure if this has fixed the problem. No wet weather since.

Default some people have it and some don't.....

finding a pattern has been attempted before, but there isn't one. It seems to happen to all years, suspension, wheel, engine, and brake types...but doesn't happen to all of one type.

Be glad you don't have it, it sucks. Imagine no braking power for 3 seconds in the rain.

Ya gotta use the pedal in the middle to get braking, even when it's wet outside.
