2-3 arm puller less that $40
and it can be used on many other things.. that one sproket only goes in one place.. why break something if its not broken..?

Hell ya. It's a great all-around car...
I just ordered new tires for it. I didn't drive it much all winter so it'll be really nice to get it back on the road.
I sold my A4 though...and stumbled across a Coupe Quattro to replace it. I'm also selling the A6 Avant to set a Suburban and a car trailer. Craziness, but fun.

No, you don't understand. You aren't replacing the sproket, you pop it off the cam, so it's free to
turn. The sprokets on the V6 aren't keyed, you pop them off the cam to compensate for the new belt, then retorque them. You don't break them, they are tough little buggers.
