can the a4 foglight housing handle 85w?

and its a hassle to ship them bak from ny to cali and then get the other ones... waste of shipping money too.. for a set of bulbs for 25 bucks.
do u really think 85w is too much? i heard that 75w was manageable, 10 more watts would be that much difference?

the fogs are meant for 55w bulbs...you are already pushing them with 70w...85 is far above the expected bulb for them.
You can try running em and see what happens...worst case scenario they melt the wiring harness...or blow out and make your fogs opaque, so you have to try cleaning em out.
Not worth it for a set of cheapie bulbs. Here is what id do...id buy a quality set of 55W, and put them in the fogs (go to supremepowerparts.com) and then id put the 85W in the HIGH beams, and know that for the infrequent, short bursts of hi-beam light, im using 85 watters...but don't forget about em and leave your high on for extended periods![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have 70W gold H7s in my highs for this reason.
