i want to hardwire and mount my cell phone cradle, but haven't decided on a good location. mainly trying to decide between the right side of the radio (cramping the passenger room) or maybe to the side of the e-brake.... any thoughts?

For my next phone (this one's getting on in years) I plan on building a mounting plate which comes out from the right side of the radio, angled slightly towards the driver.

There is actually enough room between the edge of the glove box and the center console that you can fit a piece of ABS and bolt it to the center console. One samsonite magnetic cellphone later and you are in business.

Q: Is this the material you used? It looks like a block of wood--painted.
Factory Nextel i1000 phone holder(modified to fit mounting base).
Q: Does it come with the toothed dish to allow rotating?
