can anybody give me a really fast guestiment to how much HP a testpipe gives

You can see and feel a bit of a difference in spool on a turbo car though.

Default Depends on the turbo.

Small turbo = less gains
Big turbo = larger gains

Default would you say its worth 100 bucks for a straight pipe in stock cat design

if im going to do a full exhaust system down the road?

Default That is what I have on my car...

I have the stock looking cat fully smoothed and straight down to the downpipe. Yes, it was worth it. You'll get a CEL, which is good. It is just letting you know the o2 sensor is picking it up. I have a K04 and it increased spoolup time by about 100-200rpm. On the g28rs dyno I saw it increased it by about 500rpm. The 10hp or so was worth the 100 bucks. Grab another stock cat though so you can have it if you need it. I assume your talking about hollowing the cat and redoing the flanges to make it into a testpipe so you can pass a visual inspection. If not a 2.5" or 3" testpipe is cheap and effective. cheers! Mike

Default thanks a lot. i remember someone saying that a test pipe would give 20 to 30

horsepower but i couldnt believe that for a hundred bucks. im chipped but k03 turbo. maybe ill try the secret testpipe for the extra hp. thanks a lot
