Can anyone tell me the difference btw the K03 (stock), TAP K03 sport, K04 and K24 turbos!?!?

Okay, first off, there are two sides to a turbo, the turbine(hot) side, and compressor (cold) side.<br>K03 Sport is basically a K03 with a ported cold side for increased flow. The K04 is the same as the K03 except it has a slightly larger cold side for more flow. The K24 is a completely different turbo that is found on the previous generation S4/S6. It has a larger hot and cold side, as well as an external wastegate that controls boost alot more accurately than a K03's internal wastegate does.<p>Ned<p>

Default Ned, Flowrates for K03, K04, and K24?

Ned,<p>Do you have any flowrates for any of these turbos? Or maybe even a phone number for KKK, so I can dig out the flow rates?<p>Thanks,<p>Jose

Not offhand i dont. Ill look to gather some info.<p>But basically from experience, this is what you will see. I can only speak for the K03, K04 and K24. I do not know about the K03 sport since that is TAP's modification.<p>The standard K03 is good for more than 220hp, provided that the exhaust is changed. Without an exhaust, 205 is the most you should see.<p>The K04 is good for about 260hp, but i would never push it that far. Most people claim 225-235 with just a chip. I dont believe it. It is possible but it will not be reliable. a K04 with no changes to the exhaust will only net about 5-10hp over the K03. To push an honest 240hp you will need an exhaust, at least, 2 3/4" including modified cat, and a modified exhaust manifold. <p>The K24 is a gem of a turbo. Unfortunately, to upgrade an A4, this costs $ to do it right. The K24 will produce over 300hp with very little lag provided a proper exhaust manifold and exhaust system is used. <p>Oh, then you have the K27, good for 430hp. Mind you that the 24 and 27 require extensive modifications to your A4. Its not easy.<p>Ned
