Default Can G12 Plus coolant be mixed with G12?

Hi,

I'm behind times. So I went to my favorite parts supplier, and picked up a bottle of coolant. The bottle says it's G12 Plus... I'm just wondering if it's ok to mix it with the older G12 (not plus).

Default yeah, but has anyone actually mixed these two?

I thought I read that some had concerns about mixing the two...So, I was wondering if there was any final agreement on what to do or not. I guess, the worst case, is that I just throw away the old G12.

I'm doing a timing belt change, and am going to flush the whole system. Just wondering if anyone ACTUALLY mixed the two and had any issues thereafter.

Default Ok. All dealers in my area don't stock G12+. Phased out already?

I'm slightly concerned now. It seems like G12+ isn't really carried by audi dealers anymore.

They can't find the part number for it. Weird
I think I'm going to try to return my G12+

I'd just add Dexcool/Generic now and save the G-12Plus until you do a full flush.

Default You don't want to start this argument. Since G12 is, for all intents and purposes Dex Cool, its fine

Minimal research here or on bobistheoilguy.com would reveal this. In addition, the new Prestone "All Makes and Models" antifreeze is actually very similar to Dex Cool. And

Tell us how you "know" Dexcool cannot be added to G-12.
