Can I fix my flakey cruise control by myself? cost for parts?
Hi-
I have the cruise control problem. has anyone fixed the stalk or vacuum thing by themselves and cured the problem?
Couldn't find anything in the archives...
thanks!

Try using contact cleaner
Last summer I took my car in to try to get that problem fixed and all they did was work electronics contact cleaner into the button and switch. Every time it starts to act up I just use some more cleaner and it works fine.

Generally one of two problems:
The problem usually lies with either the stalk switch or the brake light switch.
Check both to make sure they are functioning, simple continuity check with a multimeter.
Dealer changed my stalk under warranty. I am almost out of the warranty period, so next time I will try the trick Nitrox listed.
