Can I put an APR chipped M box ECU into my A4 that had a CH box?

Re: How amazing, ain't it? In fact I was asking 'cos I saw an improvement in mileage when I went...
from stock to chipped form.
Your comments really sound encouraging.
What other "musts" are there to an APR Stage 3 kit, that I should purchase separately, in your opinion? Have heard of a FMIC, clutch and brakes, maybe a boost gauge. Is a new full exhaust really necessary, and how much louder? Where would you look for such parts for good value?
Thank you for your patience.

essentials small list
Clutch (stock may work for awhile, but likely upgrade is needed handle the power)
Exhaust (APR or Miltek are recommended)
Boost gauge and VAG COM -makes keeping it 100% easier to monitor
FMIC is optional... it isnt required.
Brakes are optional... depends how you drive. You can go 100mph now, do you need better brakes?
Higher HP performance = better accuracy on things like coolant temp, etc so the vag com becomes important for troubleshooting things...you know how it is now

Re: When you mention exhaust, do you mean down pipe, cats and catback, right?...
Also, I remember reading something about an upgraded heat shield, and oil lines, though I don't know whether this comes with the kit, or not.
If I wanted to install APR's FMIC, would I have to fabricate a lot, and if so have you got any good links on where to get the materials and how to do it?

I mean from the cat flange back exhaust
The stage 3 kit includes a high flow cat.
APR's FMIC can "fit" behind a stock bumper, but it isnt pretty and really it requires a S4 bumper. Again the FMIC isnt needed for daily driving.

clutch really depends on how you drive the car and whether you launch it often.
When I changed out my OE clutch after (IIRC 40k+ kit miles) it was fine. It didn't slip and the flywheel was in great shape. I am not hard on clutches though. I switched out the clutch because I wanted to do a few q launches .
I pulled that clutch and the OE flywheel when I installed the 6 speed and wanted to try a LWFW.
