I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come across as lecturing you.

Re: (Jokingly) no offence taken at all. What's the benefit of an LWFW?

Default Revs rise and fall more quickly. It makes it easier to rev match and the lighter wheel looses less

to inertia. It makes the car slightly quicker. The down side is that you can get some 'rattling' at idle due to the lighter flywheel not averaging the acceleration impulses as much as the heavier OE wheel will and the idle can get a bit lumpier for the same reason. The OE wheel is also a dual mass ... there is an elastic membrane between masses that stretchs as the cylinders accelerate the crank on each fire. This also smoothes the rotation at idle and just off idle. A LWFW should be couple with a sprung hub clutch to help do this same thing.

Re: I see. Still where could I possibly get the sprung hub clutch you mentioned?

Default Anyone selling a LWFW/clutch combo ought to have the sprung hub clutch in the package.

Maybe look at SouthBend, AWE, ECS, etc.

Default Re: Thanks Yippers, I'll consider this as one of the annoying habits of Audi engines is that of not

loosing revs fast enough between gear changes, at least to my liking.
