Just wondering, since I have gotten a spare ECU from a friend, but his car is a (97 same year)manual tranns, I want to run his ECU on my car (since it has Giac chip), would this worK>???
I've only heard that this would cause a CEL, but is that it??
Any other problems doing this??
Thx

it should work fine. I have seen a manual non dbw ecu work in a non dbw tip without any reprogramming and did not throw any codes. But if it does all you have to do is recode the new ecu to the same soft code as the one in your car now.
