Default can I replace the A4 oem diverter valve with a TT diverter valve even though I am not chipped yet?

Reason for asking - I am getting my timing belt done in the next month or two (right now at 56k miles and getting nervous - 99 A4 1.8) and thought I wouuld just get the diverter valve replaced at the same time. I am not chipped yet, have had the car about a year, but it is a tiptronic so have held off on chipping. Will the TT diverter valve cause any problems if non-chipped? I know people that get chipped usually replace the diverter valve with either the TT or aftermarket. Thanks for any info.

That's fine, even if you never chip, it's a good idea.

Default Re: agreed.

Another question - the post above this refers to a TT bpv part # - is that the same as what I am referring to as a diverter valve or is that another part? If it is another part, what is it? Thanks

Default yes. they are the same. you might also want to check out

one of the aftermarket ones like Forge or Bailey. They are more expensive, but many feel the price is justified.

Default the tt diverter valve is crappy, too

i'm a new (used) a4 owner and a former tt owner. if you check out the tt forums, you'll see that the tt diverter valve is a piece of crap, too. go for the forge or bailey like others have said.

Default Absolutely. Either the Forge or the 710N. Forge valves are on sale.
