Can I use 225 tires on Standard 16 non-Sport wheels?

Can I use 225 tires on Standard 16 non-Sport wheels?
Tire rack said that they didn't advise going there. Stated that the wheel is 7.0 inches wide and that I should purchase 7.5 inch wheels to go to the 225 wide tires. Any input?

Re: yup, 225/50ZR16 is fine
Tire rack told me the standard wheel that I have could damage anything larger than a 205 tire.
Should I ignore the recommendation and go for it?
