Can someone tell me how to remove the wood trim from around the radio?

Default First you need to get the radio out, using the special tools, available at the dealer
Then simply unscrew it, the screws being behind the radio trim. Make sure to have your radio code handy!!

Default You can also use a nail file, or similar objects...
There are four small slots at the very extreme corners of the radio. Slide something in there to release the retaining clips, and you're home!

Default Yes, but you risk damaging the release mechanism and having the radio hopelessly stuck
Besides the tools cost pennies.

Default i've been using a swiss-army nailfile
but i have a delta deck and there's only 2 slots...

anyhow i think i'll live with the scratch for a while.
