Default Can turbo die without tripping CEL
My car feels like the turbo isn't working. It's gutless. Can the turbo die without tripping the check engine light?

Check to see if the wastegate rod is broken. It is very common on the early 1.8t A4s.

Default Reach down in there & grab it & see if it rattles around. Do you notice a metallic rattling
sound as you lift off the throttle?

Default do this with a cold engine by the way...lol
but yeah or you cna just rev and listen out pass window, or have somone listen in pass front wheel well.
