Audi is only going to say to use OEM fluids and that you don't need to replace as they're "lifetime"

Default Only Audi approved tran/diff fluid is the Audi specific fluid...

which, IIRC, is very expensive (like $30/qt. or something ridiculous like that).

However, many of us here are using other fluids (I have Redline MT-90 in the transmission and 75w90 in the rear diff).

I'd say stick with GL4. Hit or miss on those GL4/5. Get Amsoil

Default so does that mean you're coming over for the ginormous syringe? I also have some leftover M1 75w-90

I think I have 4 bottles. I was going to just return them. Save me a trip and buy them off me for $10/bottle. I think I paid $10+change for them each.

Default Mobile One webpage notes thier product at GL-5 and..

applicable for GL-4 rear differentials.. they don't reference anything about the GL-4 transmissions... this one scares me since they also disucss sulfur and phosfrous carriers.

Default and most of us would agree with you on that. myself included, which is why I use the Redline fluids

every 40-50k, which I might be changing mine earlier than that this time since it looks as if one of my rear diff seals is leaking. it's just wet now, but I bet it'll turn into a leak probably in the next 5-10k.

honestly, for $40 at $8/qt for 5 qts (3 tranny/2 diff), it can't hurt to change them more often than that.
