yea, I really like the red illumination. don't know why you'd want to change it.

Default The '96 has bulbs
On the cluster you were talking about, were the white LEDs sub miniature LEDs? Little square ones, soldered directly onto the circuit board? Those cost a few dollars a piece at electronics stores. One would only have to find out what resistor these LEDs need.
