on 2.8 12v ...
Every morning I turn my engine on, and it sounds like something is loose in engine bay, I thought at first it is front belt where drives all the pulleys, but I'm not too sure anymore, after the enigne warms up the noise is gone... there was another guy with same question .. but nobody else have responded...

Similar noise lasting 3 secs only, and only at cold startup. Deactivate compressor B 4 starting ....
... the engine, i.e. Climate Ctrl set to manual with no Compressor, no sound.
Weird.
Still dunno what it is...

What kind of noise? I had a noise from the secondary air pump, sounded like a shop vac-->
turned out that the hose just came off, and it was running full tilt for 1 minute. The ECU never shut it off because it was not actually doing anything. Hose back on, much quieter!
