I don't have access to a laptop or vagcom software. I take my car to advanced autoparts when I need a code read, and they just hook up a standard OBD II scanner to the car. My airbag light came on b/c I foolishly moved the passanger seat. I'm gonna clean the connectors and do the ziptie fix, but when I asked them if they could reset the light they acted as if they couldn't reset it with the OBDII scanner. Is this true? Do I have to take it to the dealership? I searched but couldn't find an answer to this.

From my search there was conflicting info on this. If my problem is the loose connection (which I'm positive it is b/c it came on immediately after I moved the seat all the way forward), if I clean it and ziptie them will the light go off or does it have to be reset?

OBDII is mainly emissions related so the generic code readers and scanners can only reset that type of error. Typically the non generic Audi stuff can only be reset with a VAG.com or similar.
