I was going to rotate my tires yesterday. I got the front wheel off and went to remove the rear wheel, and it was stuck like the lugs were still bolted on (they weren't). I pulled hard enough to compress the shocks to some degree and.... nothing. Any suggestions how to get the wheel off? Oh yeah, the tire was off the ground too! :-)<p>G. Hale<br>'98.5 Pearl 2.8 QMS

Had that same thing happened to my mom's Passat, when she tried to switch back to summer tires/wheels. We ended up taking it to a shop... they used this giant (literally) sledge hammer to get that wheel off. Luckily, there was no damage. <p>Cris<br>

I thought about using a rubber mallet, but was afraid of knocking the car out of alignment. I just had it aligned last week.

Loosen (do not remove)all lugs about 1/8 inch on that locked wheel. Drive the car forward slowly and hit the brakes, move backwards slowly and hit the brakes. That should do it. If not try the process again!

Loosen lugs one full turn looser than finger-tight. Then push cars sideways (I pushed on the end of the bumper) in a hard and quick side to side motion until you hear it pop loose<p>Mike <br>
