Car "lurch" question: help!
Ok...I'm driving home last night. I've just finished moderately accelerating to highway cruising speed, far from WOT.
Suddenly, the car gives me a lurch, feeling something like when an automatic tranny "kicks down" a gear. Along with this, the check engine light flickered on for less than 1/2 second during/after the lurch. Driving home very conservatively, the car acted fine the whole rest of the way home (about 10 miles)
Any thoughts, short of a VAG tool to check the fault code?
Car has 45K on the odometer and I regularly use 92 octage go-go juice. The weather was a little cold and damp, with rain changing to snow.
