Default car alarm keeps going off for no reason.

when i try and lock my car with the remote it does not beep to let me know that the car is locked. i press the lock button and it dosent beep. but some times it does beep a few sec. after. The alarm keeps going off ever 2 min of so. and for no aparent reason. i tried turning off the motion sensor by opening the door and holding the button by the driver side seat, but it's no use, it just goess off in another few min. should i disconnect the battery and reconnect of will that mess up the anti-theft on my radio system???? any ideas on how to get my car to shut up are greatly appreciated.. thanks guys!!!

Default ....it still goes off

after i lock the doors...no matter how even with the button from inside the car it still goes off after a few min. If i disconnect the battery and reconnect it ("restarting" the computer) will i do any harm elswhere? IE the radio with antitheft??

Default when mine did this it was the hood micro switch wire

sometimes the spray grease the dealers use gums the switches up. it also happens with the driver door microswitch.

spray it with light penetrating oil and it should get better.

Default Had the same problem with a mercedies 300TE 4matic......

Also I am assuming this is why my horn is disconnected on my car from when I bought it. Its been to cold out for me to go and hook it back up and see whats up. Let me know what you find out.

Default Well, there is a reason otherwise it wouldn't be going off in the first place

Check your hood sensor.

Default There is always a reason, if not hood sensor....check to see if the CLP is wet.

mine was sitting in a small pond(minus the goldfish). It is surrounded in closed cell foam in the bottom right rear of the trunk. That stuff holds water better than a chamios. If it is, pop off the rectangular bottom white plastic piece, remove the "motherboard" , and let dry. Some LOW PRESSURE compressed air might help, but I wouldn't use anything else other than some papertowels. Once I dried mine and fixed the body plug that had come unseated, causing the leak...it's been fine since.
