car is billowing white/greyish smoke out of the exhaust at idle and some while driving

not true. I had a sleeve bearing that was failing prematurely and it would smoke like a bastard
but the turbo could hold full boost and more and it didnt even make noise. Inspection even showed that the center cartridge assmebly was even perfectly healthy. The crappy thing is that I had the turbo rebuilt shortly before that and the rebuilder used bearings that were slightly too small which caused them to wear prematurely. I later went to Innovative Turbo and had the turbo rebuilt correctly as they were the original builders of the T28 for PES. Problems DONE.
