car is burning quit a bit of oil, seems to be about a quart every 3-4k. Just did my TB and there was

In addition my car seems to be running lean, what result could this combination cause?
what would be the culprite of oil loss? head gasket?

twentyvalveb5's spark plugs were covered in oil, check the plugs out (valve cover gasket).
i would try and poke around and see where the oil is actually going, maybe you are leaking from the filter? cracked pan?
Rear = cam adjuster seal
Front = cam shaft seal
or valve cover gasket
