Default car care q's

I just visited carcareonline.com and was amazed at how much stuff is out there! My question is this: how many people actually go through all of the step that they list (i.e. wash, dry, pre-wax, wax, sealer, etc.)? I know that if you want to keep the car looking new, you will follow those steps but man thats a lot of work. A professional detail job is looking more and more attractive even thought I love washing my own car (I guess it's a pride thing).

Also, I remember a while back reading about a comparison b/t RainX and some other product. Yes, I searched the archives for "rainx" but found no such mention of the other glass product. If anyone knows what the other product name is (it performs just like rainx) I would be very appreciative. And it apparently performed better. Also where I can find it. Thanks!

Default I always skip the washing step and go straight to the waxing....

HAHA...made you look! Just kidding!

I use Mother's 3 step process. Pre-Wax Cleaner, Sealer/Glaze, Carnauba Wax, but I don't always use all three. The wax gets used every 2 months, the cleaner every 4 months, and the sealer/glaze once a year. If I had Santorin, Brilliant or Volcano Black rather than Silver, I'd probably use the Sealer/Glaze more often and develop Popeye forearms!

Default I would guess you are thinking of...

I believe the product is called "NoTouch". Have not used it, but remember reading on this board that some people preferred it to RainX for window treatments.

Default I do 3 steps only once a year

I typically wash and wax.

About twice a year, I'll wash, polish and wax.

I think I'll need to clay it soon.

Default Re: notouch

well, since i cant remember the product name i'll have to trust you on that one. i dont like rainx for a few reasons namely buildup. sometimes it leaves streaks and other unsightly "stuff" in the rain. i guess i mean it does weird things to the water after a few applications.

Default I use VisionBlade, by STP.. lasts much longer than RainX.

I had to re-apply Rain-X almost every month, whereas I am still going with my original application of VisionBlade from last September...
