Default Car has been slow last month, now I see oil seeping out through turbo

Stupid K04, right as I decide to keep my car forever and just fix whatever it decides to throw at me, it starts getting the most random problems(aside from this one) I could have ever imagined.

I guess what I'm wondering now is:

a) is it done for?
b) how long can I expect it to survive before needing to replace it?
c) is it bad for the car?

sorry for the crappy pic, I just snapped that while doing my daily what has gone wrong now inspection

Default Is there shaft play? Oil out the exhaust, using oil? I'd take it off your hands. ;)

I probably needs a rebuild is all. How many miles on it?

Default Looks like it could be leaking around that plug above the mount bolt. Try tightening that up

I imagine oil could leak if it loosened up a bit since the oil line is right above it.

Default Approx 25k on the turbo, and I haven't taken it out for inspection

I was planning on going Elim GTRS about 6months from now, but I might have to rearrange my plans to accomodate for that sooner. There has been a considerable ammount of oil in the intake hoses leading up to the intake manifold. I replaced the PCV system about 5000 miles ago.

Default It may be blowing it by... but maybe not.

Take a look at the oil feed line it may be loose. (I think that is what "Solaris" was mentioning above)

If the turbo is "gone" get it out sooner than later as it can still be rebuilt if the wheels are not hitting the housing etc. I seriously would be interested in the turbo semi-dead or alive. I have the means to rebuild it so... let me know.

Default I checked that bolt, and referenced the std K04 Install on these forums...

its a 6mm hex that is supposed to be torqued as tight as possible. It holds the turbo to the supporting bracket. Now I took my scrawny bicycle allen wrench and still got it to go a little bit. Not good.

Looks like that could definately be the culprit. I will clean it up tomorow and see if it comes back. Now the question is, why did it get loose and will my power come back(probably not =( ).

there's a plug above the mount bolt. The mount bolt shouldn't leak anything
