I have a 2000 1.8l Turbo with automatic transmission and sports suspension. The problem is the car shudders as it slows down to a stop. It feels like the auto transmission is not disengaging the engine from the back wheels, the engine speed oscillates faster and slower as the car shudders; I have to keep the foot on the break else I think the car would either lurch forward or the engine would stall.

Any ideas please? TIA ... Greg
