Default Car wont start! Completely dead - help!

Everything's been working fine till this afternoon, took the car out during lunch around 1pm for 5 mile roundtrip.

Next came back to the car at 11:30pm in the night - nothing! No remote lights (first sign of trouble). Had to put in the key to unlock the front driver side door. Put the key into ignition and turned - nothing! No dash lights - nothing! Completely dead!!

Tried to jump the battery - nothing! No change - not a sigh of life.

At my last oil change at Audi - the guys replace the ignition switch under recall.
Could this be the culprit?

Any ideas folks? I am at a complete loss here!

thanks,
-paul

Default Sounds like a dealer moment, though it still could be the battery. The question is:

When you connect the other car via jumper cables, does ANYTHING happen? I mean dash lights or anything?

I've had car batteries go so dead that a jump wouldn't take, but even then if I connected another car, the dash would dimly light.

WHen did you last change the battery? If it's time for a new one, you might try getting one, and if it doesn't work, head to a dealer.

Battery was replaced about a year ago. Put in the Sears international battery.

When I connected the jumpers - I ofcourse got some spark on the terminals - but nothing on my car. No lights at all. The dash lights did not come on at all.

Hmmm. That's weird. Unless a whole crapload of fuses went out, I'm at a loss
