Default car won't start. turns over but won't fire up. when i spray carb cleaner into the throttle body

and try to start it, it almost fires up, very roughly sputters for a second, but then dies.

any clues what this may be?

Default Step away from the Audi.

Carb cleaner? SRLY

Start by putting away the carb cleaner and pulling some codes. You may have to clear the code, crank for 30 seconds, and pull codes again.

Default what, no good? i see no problem with using it a few times trying to get a car running

not something i'd do on a daily basis. anyways, what do you make of this?

using the *ahem* carb cleaner method, i'm able to get the car started, where she'll idle for about five seconds and then die. if i try to give it any gas pedal during that five second idle, she stalls immediately.

does this sound like anything familiar?

Default well, i'm an idiot...

i thought about it and it seemed that the carb cleaner was acting as a fuel source, as the longer i sprayed into the throttle body, the longer the car would idle before stalling.

so i thought to myself, "if it's not getting fuel, why not? what's different?"

the only difference was the red thingie...so i grabbed some needlenose and pulled it out. i was floored.

laugh at the idiot!!
