Car wont take updated Garret program (97 1.8tqa) vag tool says that throttle sensor is (more)
malfunctioning... so i have to stick with old program-- any idea what issue could be with the throttle servo?? New part = 400 + from dealer any sugestion thanks

If you have a 97 you should not have a throttle servo, I thought that was on the dbw's only
are you sure you got the non dbw chip and not a DBW. What is the updated chip version you got.

No i had it at a shop-- they knew what they were doing--pluged it into vag tool and said that (more)
the throttle something was malfunctioning-- even in the non dbw cars there is still a mechanism that varies the angle ans speed the throttle opens ect-- the new program aparently looks for that where the stock and old version of giac software does not--- it would not run the new L2 program-- i hadn to put the update just before that (about 8 months old)
