i completed the carbonio intake install this past weekend. the instructions were mediocre at best, very vague and the pictures didnt really aid in the install very much. they were photocopied and too dark, however, the were decent enough to have a person with minimal mechanical experience (me) complete the install.
the install took me a little over four hours total, although i took a few breaks here and there so the actual time working was probably more like two hours.

i had a little trouble with the bracket that connected the intake to the frame. the cords connecting to the ICM werent long enough to have it run vertical (as per the instructions), so mine is at a slight angle.

as nojoi already pointed out, it did seem as though they cut some corners on some parts. metal clamps that probably should have been included were replaced by zipties. the heatshield also seemed a little subpar. not really what you'd expect from a $360 intake.

my main concern though is the wiring connecting to the MAF. on the stock airbox it is surrounded by a rubber piece that shields it from any liquids. however on the carbonio intake it is left completely exposed. is this right? is there something i did wrong? how can i cover this up?

i started the car up and let it idle for 10 min as instructed to and got no CEL. i took the car for a brief drive around the block and was happy with the added sound of the intake as well as a slightly more responsive car (however this was probably my imagination). overall i was pleased with the purchase.
suggestions to carbonio:
1. write up new install instructions. take a ****LOAD of BIG color photos and turn it into a downloadable .pdf this will make things much easier on everyone.
2. spend the extra $5 on metal clamps. god knows your profit margins are big enough on this product.
3. dont send unneeded parts. i got an extra intake filter for a 00-01 cars that i didnt need. however this might have been because i was a 99.5 and they were unsure if i would need it or not.
am i happy with the purchase? yes. would i buy this intake if given the chance to go do it all over again? probably not. too much show, not enough go for the money.
however, it does look sexy next to my carbon fiber engine cover.
